Welcome back kids. I know you probably didn't even realize it's been a week since the last time we provided you with some internet videos to waste time with since you were busy answering Buzzfeed questions, but lo and behold, time has passed. Here's what we've got for you:
1. “Game Theory: Candy Crush, Designed to ADDICT” – If you can't stop sending people requests to play candy crush just so you can move forward, it might not be your fault. Apparently mobile games are designed to keep you around, and here's the science behind it. Then again, you might just have an addictive personality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BTGgCEFuQw
2. “Dear White People- Trailer #2” – Anything that starts with "Dear white people" is probably going to be funny to me. When the main character is described as, "If Spike Lee and Oprah had some sort of pissed off baby," there's going to be lots of satire about our modern society that's going to make a lot of people uncomfortable, and that's a great thing: http://youtu.be/Qm6HeK1dyAY. If you need a quick crash course on why black people get to complain about their historical context, Louis Ck will tell you all about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnIYEDbh8zA
3. “Bravest Warriors Season 1 on Cartoon Hangover (Every Episode)” – Since we've already established that you've probably got an addictive personality (if you didn't watch the first video, go back; we'll wait), go watch the first season of one of the best cartoons around. This series is packed with hilarious jokes you'll be quoting all of the time, an adorable hybrid animal that speaks, and adventures. And speaking of adventures, Pendleton Ward, the creator of Adventure Time also created this, so I'm sure you'll love it. http://youtu.be/nv99gj1xxWw
4. “Batgirl Creators Talk Villains & Designing the Costume” – Since Amanda hates the new Batgirl, I'm ignoring that hate and posting an interview with the creators about their new take on Batgirl. I'm excited for the new book since it feels more like the Stephanie Brown run of Batgirl that was around just before DC decided to New 52 everyone in the face and to erase everything good: http://youtu.be/Q3ygovf4t5M
To see the torrent of fan art and love behind the book (which comes out in October) you can head to http://batgirlofburnside.tumblr.com/ where they are collecting as much as they can. And you can follow the creators on Twitter for updates and hear about their other projects at:
Brenden Fletcher, Writer: https://twitter.com/brendenfletcher
Cameron Stewart, Co-writer, Artist: https://twitter.com/cameronMstewart
Babs Tarr, Artist: https://twitter.com/babsdraws
5. “Dating: Now Vs. The ‘90s” – More than anything, this Buzzfeed video reminds me how much I loath technology (said as I use it). It was so much easier to talk to people when they didn't have a digital brick in front of their face at all times. I may sound like an old man, but having too much access to everyone is never a good thing. But who cares what I say, we're not in the ‘90s anymore. Some of the people reading this aren't even old enough to properly remember that decade. http://youtu.be/UVHyS8UbiOE
These are some of the highlights of my net surfing this week, and I hope you enjoy them.
