I know, I know, you're all full up when it comes to internet goodness since Marvel rained down awesomeness for the whole world to bask in earlier this week. But I'm going to do my best to share just a tiny bit more with you anyway. Welcome back to While You Were Sleeping:
1. “Could Krypton Be DC's Game of Thrones?!” – Dan Casey over on Nerdist News shows a light into the dark corner DC's been kicked into after the wake of Marvel's bounteous gifts this week, and speculates about the possible nature of DC's plans for a Superman prequel featuring his doomed home world. When an idea (sort of) works once, in the case of Gotham, you immediately do the same thing again in the television/film industry. To be honest, Russell Crowe going all alien Gladiator and riding dragons was pretty cool, but I'm pretty sure you're not going to get him to do a TV show: http://www.nerdist.com/vepisode/could-krypton-be-dcs-game-of-thrones/
2. “So Long, Superman” – Here is a visual representation of what Marvel did to DC's movie announcements when they released their onslaught of superheroes movies. The only way this would be better is if they beat up Aquaman too (this was probably the only good part of Superman Returns): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaCu2C3234c
3. “Ok Go - I Won't Let You Down - Official Video” – I'm almost certain you've seen this when one of your friends shared it on Facebook or something, but I'm showing you again. I've been a fan of Ok Go since they released their debut album back when I was in high school, but since then they've been making highly creative videos with an insane amount of choreography and planning. In this particular video, they make brilliant use of a drone and give us an exceptional view of Japan: http://youtu.be/u1ZB_rGFyeU
4. “Benedict Cumberbatch can't say ‘Penguins’ - The Graham Norton Show: Series 16 Episode 5 - BBC One”– Everyone loves Benedict Cumberbatch. He's Sherlock, apparently he's to be Dr. Strange for Marvel, he's Smaug to Hobbit fans, but he can't say penguins and Graham Norton just loves torturing him about it. It's got to be so mortifying to watch yourself fail with a studio audience on hand: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlRpLGEwssA
Well, that should be all you need. Go forth and make theories about who will direct your favorite Marvel movies. Go forth and rejoice like many of the fangirls I follow and tweet with over the announce Captain Marvel movie. And try to pick at least one DC movie that might possibly be exciting. They do so well with The Flash and Arrow that I'd hate to leave them out altogether.
