As I recently moved from a coastal state to the middle of the country, I have been missing the summer heat and proximity to the beach. Since I am missing bathing suits and sunscreen, here are some suits I’m coveting. All images link to the website where you can purchase them—or just stare at good looking people in bathing suits.
If you’re a female, Black Milk Clothing is the top of the line for quality geek girl gear. They release collections spanning different fandoms, which makes our hearts happy, even if our wallets don’t agree. Ever since I saw their R2-D2 dress, I’ve been a fan. This is one of my many favorites of theirs partially because I don’t like wearing characters’ faces over my torso—the eyes tend to be inconveniently placed.
I remember when the Power Rangers first aired on television. If that doesn’t tell you something about my age, it should at least explain my extreme nostalgia for the show. I had action figures, I had VCR tapes, and now I wish that I had this cute set to become the Pink Ranger—at least if she were on vacation. (At this time, the pieces are currently out of stock at Hot Topic, and I’m sobbing.)
Not to leave the guys out, Super Hero Stuff has a collection of board shorts in various super hero, Star Wars, and comic book page designs. Pick from your favorites or outfit the whole family. Avengers or JLA anyone?
Everyone here at Controllers and Capes is a Harry Potter fan. Our first midnight releases weren’t movies or games, but book premieres where we may or may not have been dressed up as our favorite Gryffindors or Slytherins. Now we can dress up in gear from the houses we were sorted into thanks to Black Milk Clothing (I’m personally a Ravenclaw, but they also have Slytherin and Hufflepuff suits).
Lately, we’ve been crazy about the Marvel movies, and who hasn’t?! The Captain America sequel was a fast-paced game changer, and we can’t wait to see what happens to the Avengers now that Shield has been dismantled. Will Cap take up the reins as he does in the comics? Until the next installment, we’ll just have to settle for dressing up like him.
