This update covers some of the most bizarre comic projects I've seen on Kickstarter as well as more 3D tabletop gaming! We also have a kid-friendly game in the mix for those on the lookout for more games to help introduce kids to tabletop gaming.

Comics
Angels to Earth
Digital Pledge - $15
Angels to Earth tells the story of Angels helping humanity from the Angels' perspective without coming across as religious or part of a scripture. The creators' are putting a fantasy and sci-fi twist on the story of creation. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but you can take a look at the opening scene of the comic at the kickstarter page to see if it does interest you.

Sherbet
Digital Pledge - $11, Physical Pledge - $25
Drug-addicted, lesbian paranormal detective from the future. In case you didn't pledge from just that description, I can only say this trade paperback is one of the most bizarre kickstarter projects I've covered. In this world goblins, demons, werewolves, and more all want to have sex with you while others just want to eat your kid's souls. Also whales are being given spider legs and laser eyes to ensure their survival. If I haven't sold you yet, then this project probably isn't for you.

HyGround - 3D Terrain Tiles
Print and Play Pledge - $, Physical Pledge - $
I'm a sucker for 3D terrain if you haven't found out by now. These hex tiles remind me of HeroScape tiles which allow you to build some beautiful, functional landscapes for any miniature game. The tiles are also built to be compatible with other terrain sets. If you'd like to expand your HeroScape collection or get into 3D tabletop gaming then take a look at this modular system and see if it's for you. Note that the tiles are designed for 28mm miniatures.

Pocket Dungeon Quest
Print and Play Pledge - $5, Physical Pledge - $25

This is a cooperative game that can be combined with other copies of itself to include more players and bigger dungeons. Each level of the dungeon is made up of randomized tiles to add replayability and the levels get harder as you venture down. Each class has a unique skill to help it through the dungeon crawl and the game itself is simple enough to be played by kids of all ages.

Warband: Against the Darkness
Print and Play Pledge - $10, Physical Pledge - $49
2 - 5 players, ages 10+, 60 - 90 min. play time
Boasted as a theme-rich Euro-style game, Warband is an area control, set collecting, action selection and abstracted combat game. What all that means... is you have multiple paths to victory by upgrading your races different abilities to support your combat efforts to secure victory points at the end of the game. Part of the games mechanics remind me of the Game of Thrones board game, where you are trying to secure victory by yourself while also cooperating during the Wildlings attack. There are numerous reviews on this game available at the Kickstarter page to get a better feel for how the game plays and if it's something your tabletop group would be interested in playing.
