The Faces Behind My Comic Book Addictions

Kelly Sue DeConnick: This one is for Amanda (you may remember her from starting this blog). Got a copy of Pretty Deadly at the con as soon as I got there, and made it to Kelly Sue's line right before she had to go to a panel to get that sucker signed for Amanda. Thanks again Ms. DeConnick! twitter.com/kellysue
Mike Maihack: Found Mike on Twitter through another artist a while back, and he's got some great artwork. You've probably seen his Supergirl/Batgirl webcomic at some point, but if not go look it up. twitter.com/mikemaihack
Ming Doyle: Ming was so nice! She had a print for sale of Wolverine and Jubilee, and we reminisced about the old X-Men cartoon and the 90's for a bit. Ming's was one of my favorite drawings of Jubilee ever. I also met her fiancé (ever one is engaged these days) Neil, and he was cool; had great glasses too. twitter.com/mingdoyle
Phil Noto: Phil Noto's art is the new classic. It feels like it's from the 60's, Brigitte Bardot in the Marvel Universe. I got him to sign a comic, but his art is on my list of things to go broke for as well. http://www.notoart.com/
Sage Coffey: Indie artist, master of puns. Sage was the first artist I really talked to at Heroes Con, and the first I bought something from. If we lived in the same place, I'm sure we could hang. We had a good vibe. twitter.com/SageCoffey
Skottie Young: The second longest line in the building was for Skottie Young's table, and his line was probably the best because of all the little kids that were coming to see him. He is the artist for The Wizard of Oz comic by Marvel, he draws the tiny young Marvel characters, and he illustrated Fortunately, the Milk, which was written by Neil Gaiman, so he definitely draws a great crowd. I finally picked up the book, and that was the best time because I got this awesome Polaroid with it and both are signed. twitter.com/skottieyoung
Yale Stewart: Yale draws the webcomic JL8, and I'm always looking forward to those tiny little Justice League kids. I wish his comic was around when I was a kid. Yale is awesome, so you should go check his work out: http://jl8comic.tumblr.com/
