For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, winter is rapidly approaching. Warm days turn into cool nights, and leave me wanting something fun to cover up in before I go into hiding in my coat for 6 months. Here are my top picks for nerdy sweaters I wish I could afford:
I may or may not be cheating by already owning one of WeLoveFine's sweaters, but they are downright soft and warm. My next addition could be this Ghostbusters knit if they ever get my size back in stock. Officially licensed and made by a fairly reputable company, you can count on the quality of these sweaters. | Etsy is one of my favorite shopping destinations of all time. Where else can I go and in one spree get anything from personalized cutting boards to candles to phone charms? Naturally, I hit up Etsy for sweater ideas, including this sweater. There are spaceships and robots and dinosaurs, which basically spells everything epic ever. This is the one ugly Christmas sweater to rule them all. |
These Mario and Luigi sweaters are awesome. The image bears the copyright symbol and says that they're licensed by Nintendo. Could be why these sweaters top our list as far as the most expensive option, but it's not like I could order it anyway without a translator. | This doge sweater makes me want to laugh and cry. Items rotate in this Etsy shop (last year featured a 1 Up mushroom from Mario), so if you don't see your current fandom, add it to your favorites and be patient. I could honestly see this sweater showing up in a Goodwill in the future, where hipsters who have moved on with their internet memes will philosophize why someone would misspell 'dog.' |
What sweater collection is complete without a hoodie or two? TikiTee's astronomy hoodie jokes around like you're already an old geezer spouting "back in my day" diatribes. But seriously, Pluto was my favorite planet, screw you really smart scientist people for making justifiable changes to astronomical categorizations that >1% of the population cares about anyway! | Finally, if the above sweater collection hasn't completely proven your nerdhood yet, round out your collection with this D20 and weapons pullover from Middle of Beyond. They have a number of cheeky sweaters for pre-order from Cthulhu to Krampus the Christmas Devil to lighten up your gloomy winter days. |
